Halfway Through Summer Already!
How time flies! We are already halfway through summer, and while the studio is enjoying quieter summer hours over the next couple of weeks, there is still plenty happening behind the scenes as we prepare for an exciting season ahead.

As summer slowly gives way to fall, many families begin thinking about routines again.
One thing makes the transition easier for everyone: consistency. Children thrive when they know what to expect. Predictable routines, caring relationships, and clear expectations create the confidence children need to learn, grow, and succeed.
The return to school and dance is about much more than schedules. It is about helping children settle into routines, build confidence, make new friends, and rediscover the joy of learning.
Confidence doesn't appear overnight. It grows through consistency, small improvements, encouragement, and celebrating the little victories along the way.
One of the wonderful things we see at Pegasus is watching our dancers experience both sides of learning. At one point they are the youngest in the room, learning from those ahead of them. Before long, they become the older dancers, the leaders, encouraging those who are just beginning the same journey.
Those experiences build confidence, resilience, empathy, and leadership in ways that extend far beyond the dance studio.
Starting a new class can feel exciting, but it can also bring butterflies. During those first few weeks, our caring faculty focus on helping every child feel welcomed, supported, and connected as they build friendships, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
At Pegasus, we believe children thrive when they feel safe, supported, and known. Every class is built on the values of Respect, Kindness, and Trust, creating an environment where dancers are encouraged to try new things, make mistakes, support one another, and grow with confidence.
As children grow, we also intentionally nurture responsibility and accountability. Learning to arrive prepared, caring for their belongings, encouraging their classmates, accepting feedback, and following through on commitments are life skills that extend far beyond the dance studio. These small habits, practised week after week, help build confident, capable young people.
That's why we always encourage families to trust our class recommendations. Our goal is never simply to place dancers into classes, it is to place them where they will be challenged, supported, and given the best opportunity to succeed.
Pegasus isn't just a place to dance. It's a place to belong, to grow, and to thrive.
Experience the Childhood Expressions™ Magic
This summer, eight members of our faculty attended the Toronto Dance Teacher Expo to learn, connect, and be inspired by leaders in our industry. Lara and I were honoured to present our Childhood Expressions™ Masterclass to more than 60 dance educators as we prepare to launch our Childhood Expressions™ Certified Educator Program this fall.
While it's exciting to share our philosophy with educators across Canada, what excites us even more is sharing that same Childhood Expressions™ magic with the children and families in our own community every single week.
The preschool years are such a precious season of childhood. Before life becomes a little busier, give your child the gift of wonder.
Our two-morning-a-week preschool program is intentionally kept small so that every child feels known, valued, and connected. Through movement, music, storytelling, visual art, dramatic play, and nature exploration, children build confidence, curiosity, friendships, and independence in a joyful, arts-based learning environment.
Most importantly, they develop a love of learning, along with the social, emotional, and foundational skills that help make the transition to Kindergarten a positive and successful one.

Intensive Summer Dance Program
August 31 – September 2
For dancers ages 11 and up, our Summer Intensive is the perfect way to return to the studio feeling strong, inspired, and ready for the new season.
With guest artists, favourite Pegasus faculty, and a well-rounded schedule of classes, dancers will build strength, confidence, and momentum before regular classes begin.
Whether your goals include performances, examinations, competitions, or simply becoming the best dancer you can be, this is the perfect way to start the year.

Junior STEPP: Growing Confident Leaders
The tween years are an exciting time of growth, independence, and self-discovery. They can also be a time of uncertainty as young people begin discovering who they are and how they fit into the world.
At Pegasus, we believe this is the perfect time to intentionally nurture confidence, resilience, empathy, leadership, and personal responsibility.
That's why we're excited to bring back Junior STEPP this October in an expanded format. After piloting the program last year, we quickly realized how meaningful these conversations and experiences can be during this important stage of life.
Junior STEPP
Level 1: Dancers entering Grade 5 this fall
Level 2: Dancers entering Grade 6 or who have completed Level 1
Led by Pegasus Artistic Director Jane Davis-Munro, this exclusive 10-week program helps young people build confidence, strengthen relationships, develop a growth mindset, and become positive role models both inside and outside the studio.
While Junior STEPP provides a wonderful foundation for future opportunities in our Growing Leaders: STEPP Teacher Assistant Program, its greatest purpose is much bigger than preparing future student teachers.
It's about helping young people discover who they are becoming—and giving them the confidence, character, and leadership skills they'll carry long after they leave the dance studio.
As we look ahead to our 40th season, we are filled with gratitude for every family that has been part of the Pegasus community over the past four decades. Whether your child is taking their very first dance class or returning for another season, we are honoured to be part of their journey.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back this September for another year of learning, laughter, friendship, and growth.
