Dance Exams

For the Dedicated Dancer

Students enrolled in dance exam programs are often those who:

• Are passionate about refining their technique

• Enjoy setting and achieving personal goals

• Thrive with structure and purpose in their dance education

These programs provide the foundation for technical mastery, discipline, and a deeper understanding of dance as an art form.

At Pegasus Dance Studios we offer dancers the opportunity to participate in a variety of exams and assessments with the world's largest examining board, the Royal Academy of Dance. These exams and assessments allow dancers of all ages and abilities the opportunity to work toward goals and be rewarded for their efforts and progress. Students participate in full examinations, Class Awards, and by teacher recommendation, Solo Performance Awards.

We are now offering Rambert Grades examinations to our Modern Contemporary dance students. This internationally recognized dance assessment provides a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their technique, performance skills, and understanding of dance in a structured and supportive environment.

The Rambert Grades are designed for dancers of all ages and abilities, offering a progressive pathway from beginner to advanced levels. Students will have the chance to showcase their growth, receive constructive feedback, and earn a qualification.

Growing Leaders-STEPP

For the Emerging Leader

The Growing Leaders Program is ideal for:

• Tweens and teens who are enthusiastic about helping others

• Students who want to build confidence, communication, and mentorship skills

• Young people ready to take on responsibility in a supportive environment

This program nurtures the next generation of role models, teachers, and changemakers—in and beyond the studio.

As part of Pegasus Dance Studios mission to nurture and empower children to be the confident leaders of tomorrow, we believe dance has always had a positive impact on life goals, education, and personal development. But we realize that today there is a deeper internal transformation in finding connections, confidence, expression, and community. As part of the community that supports parents in raising happy, healthy children, we have researched, trained, and developed additional programs to support children’s developing skills for dealing with anxiety, confidence, and self-esteem.

This includes our Student Teacher Education Pegasus Program (STEPP) for ages 11 to 16 years. STEPP can be taken during the year with monthly meetings or as part of our Summer Programs.

Workshops for Advanced Dancers

For our more experienced and committed dancers, Pegasus Dance Studios offers specialized workshops throughout the year that provide exciting opportunities to deepen technique, expand artistry, and be inspired. These workshops are designed to challenge dancers in a supportive environment while introducing them to new styles, skills, and perspectives.

These workshops are ideal for dancers who:

• Are enrolled in intermediate or advanced level classes
• Participate in exam programs or performance companies
• Are eager to push themselves artistically and technically
• Thrive in an immersive, fast-paced learning environment

Advanced workshops may include:

• Masterclasses with guest artists and professional choreographers
• Style-specific intensives (e.g., Contemporary, Jazz Fusion, Improvisation, Ballet Technique, Choreographic Composition)
• Cross-training sessions focused on strength, flexibility, and injury prevention
• Creative exploration that encourages dancers to connect with their own movement voice

These workshops:

• Encourage artistic risk-taking and independence
• Prepare dancers for auditions, performances, and higher-level training
• Expose students to professional practices and expectations
• Build community among like-minded, motivated peers

Workshops are offered throughout the school year and during school breaks, providing dancers with fresh challenges and new ways to grow. Many students leave these workshops feeling energized, inspired, and more connected to their craft. It’s a powerful way to keep growing—both as a dancer and as an individual.
